This is an exciting time to join the University of Southampton. As the Head of Engineering Design you will play a vital role in supporting our endeavours by overseeing the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical projects and liaison across the University, to keep our estate running. The position will also play an important role in shaping the strategic direction of the University as we move towards achieving our sustainability goals of Net Carbon Zero 2030.
You will have excellent managerial, design, technical and communication skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and that of a team. You will be a positive and proactive problem solver with the ability to oversee the management of Mechanical and Electrical projects and Project Liaison to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be a strong team player, but also be self-sufficient and able to work independently.
