About the role

You will be responsible for analysing and providing expert advice and recommendations on complex research performance data and analytics, requiring an extensive knowledge of research performance and associated legislative requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate reporting of research performance, quality, and management data for a number of internal and external purposes.

This position sits within the Research Services directorate which is responsible for managing research funding and contracts, intellectual property and commercialisation, research governance in accordance with the Australian Code for Responsible Conduct of Research and oversight of research ethics processes, research performance and rankings, researcher development and all associated polices and processes.

About you

Reporting to the Associate Director, the appointee will be a competent, innovative and experienced problem solver and capable of consistently exercising sound and responsible judgement. You will take responsibility for challenging and complex matters related to research performance, research collection systems, changes to legislative requirements, implementation of new systems and processes.

You will:

  • lead the analytics, evaluation and submission processes for research quality and performance reporting;
  • undertake data mining, predictive modelling and other data analysis techniques, to identify emerging trends and recommend strategies;
  • manage the production of research performance and quality reports, visualisations, and dashboards
    (e.g. Power BI), including comparative analysis and benchmarking; and
  • manage and support planning, consolidation, analysis, and systems development associated with the University’s submission of institutional data to Government bodies.

Directions from Victoria’s Chief Health Officer require all Victorian-based Federation University workers to be fully vaccinated, unless they are an Excepted Person as defined by the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions.
