Applications are invited for two positions as Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Department of Economics. Whilst we welcome applications in all fields of economics, one position will have a specific focus on health / applied economics.

The Department of Economics is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Law and Criminology; Politics, International Relations and Philosophy; and Social Work. The Department is a top 10 research department in the UK (based on the 2014 Research Excellence Framework) with strengths in all major fields of economics. We have a thriving undergraduate programme and offer a range of Masters programmes including economics and finance. The department is also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.

We seek strong academic candidates who can join our dynamic team to deliver outstanding research and teaching. We expect candidates to have clear potential to publish in the top general and field journals in Economics. Applicants should possess the broad range of skills needed to teach effectively and creatively and should be able to contribute to and develop our teaching portfolio. The position with a focus on health / applied economics will support the development and launch of a new Masters programme in global health economics.
