An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Web and Data Analytics Executive to join the Marketing team at Edinburgh Napier University. The role forms an essential part of the web team maintaining, developing and improving the university's external website.

The role holder will play a key role in supporting the set-up of marketing campaigns, reporting and interpreting consumer insight to inform site development, considering key principles of user experience (UX) and website accessibility.

You will join an ambitious and results-driven Marketing Team within the Marketing & External Relations Department. We act as a strategic service that is integral to the delivery of the University's Strategy by providing innovative and expert marketing and communications advice and services.

The Opportunity

As a Web and Data Analytics Executive, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the University’s external website, ensuring content is up-to-date and governance standards are adhered to.

The role is responsible for the set up and interpretation of analytical data to inform the University’s website development plans which contribute to the University’s strategic objectives.

Please note that while experience of using html is desirable, this is not a web developer role.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing improvement of the University website to improve key user journeys by providing analytics, making recommendations and liaising with colleagues (including Information Services) to effectively test and implement improvements
  • Administer the day-to-day running of the website, ensuring content is published in a timely manner and adheres to accessibility legislation, providing CMS training and support to colleagues
  • Provide insight and evidence based on analysis of website performance data, producing regular reporting on KPIs to senior colleagues
  • Interpret digital data to inform digital improvement projects in order to improve the user experience and increase marketing campaign conversions
  • Ensuring a network of content editors adhere to accessibility best practice

Who we are looking for

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Experience of working with complex websites and CMS platforms (ideally Sitecore)
  • Advanced knowledge and working experience of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and complex data sets
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent IT skills, including the use of web-related technologies and multi-media programmes
  • Demonstrable knowledge of web and digital technologies and developments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
