Aged Care Centre for Growth & Translational Research
The Librarian CGTR Knowledge Resources will work in the Knowledge and Information Hub (KIH) within the Aged Care Centre for Growth and Translational Research (CGTR), College of Nursing and Health Sciences under the direction and mentoring of the Director Knowledge and Implementation Hub (or delegate).
Within the CGTR there are three workstreams:
- Knowledge and implementation Hub;
- Aged Care Partnering Program (ACPP); and
- Workforce Capacity and Capability workstream.
The incumbent will provide skilled and technical support to enable the effective and precise retrieval of aged care and healthcare evidence and literature resources to support the development of evidence resources and content for use within the KIH and its web content and applications.
Under general to broad direction, the Librarian will provide skilled and technical support to enable the effective and precise retrieval of aged care and healthcare evidence and literature resources to support the development of evidence resources and content for use within the KIH and its web content and applications.
Key Position Responsibilities
The Librarian, CGTR Knowledge Resources will be accountable for:
- Supporting the research deliverables of the Centre by undertaking health and aged care evidence retrievals against rigorous protocols.
- Providing advice team members and centre staff and stakeholders about the retrieval methods and quality process methods and other considerations such as access, copyright compliance, etc.
- Assisting with staff training in the use of referencing and appraisal systems where required.
- Developing and maintaining documentation processes to support the retrieval and reporting of evidence syntheses to publication requirements.
- Organising, co-ordinating and monitoring workflow procedures, service priorities and performance targets with respect to the development of evidence syntheses.
- Undertaking rapid evidence retrievals to support the development of projects in Workstreams 2&3 as required.
- Some out of hours work (including weekends) as well as rural SA, interstate, and overseas travel, may be required.
- Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the role as assigned by the Board and/or the University.
Key Position Capabilities
- Relevant University degree and eligibility for Associate (professional) membership of ALIA.
- Relevant experience in an academic or research library.
- Demonstrated expertise in literature and evidence retrieval in health and aged care bibliographic databases.
- General to broad knowledge of library resources management systems and processes.
- Demonstrated information, digital and academic literacy skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and judgement to resolve complex problems, determine and prioritise tasks, attend to detail and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated well developed to high written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in both face-to-face and online environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within own team and with other teams.
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-directed learner with openness to exploring new ideas and technologies.
Prescribed Conditions of Employment:
