(Level A) $89,610 to $96,007 per annum and (Level B) $100,933 to $119,391 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply.

Exciting opportunity for a Postdoc position in the field of Epigenetics - (Level A or B) in the group of Professor Jose Polo at the newly established Adelaide Centre for Epigenetics (ACE).
The Research Fellow (Postdoctoral) position is to work within the group of Professor Jose Polo in the recently established Adelaide Centre for Epigenetics (ACE). This opportunity is for a high achieving postdoctoral researcher to join the recently relocated Polo group to work on the molecular mechanisms underpinning reprogramming, early embryogenesis and cancer. The ACE is a newly established centre within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences focusing on epigenetic research and cell fate. The Adelaide Centre for Epigenetics will be associated with the recently established South Australian immunoGENomics Cancer Institute (SAiGENCI) which will be the state’s world class cancer research institute.
The successful postdoc will be responsible of driving all aspects of their own research as well as contributing to team member’s projects. The postdoc will also contribute to the supervision of honours and/or postgraduate research projects within the field of the staff member's area of research. The postdoc will contribute to the preparation or, where appropriate , individual preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies as well as helping in administrative functions primarily connected with their area of research and occasional contributions to the teaching program within the field of the staff member's research.
To be successful at Level A you will need:
- A Ph.D. in epigenetics or protein complex biochemistry.
- Clear record of driving to success their own research demonstrated by an excellent publication record.
- Experience in epigenetics and biochemistry techniques and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative and productive manner within the team and with collaborators.
- Desired skills include: Experience in bioinformatic analysis, study of dynamic epigenetics processes, Stem cell or developmental biology, Cancer Biology.
In addition to the above, to be successful at Level B, you will also need:
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, including leading research.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and oversee postgraduate and honours students in the research area and supervise research-support staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across disciplines and collaborate with industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of successful proposal submissions to external funding bodies.
