About the opportunity

The Finance Officer provides a range of financial administration and transactional support services within the Centre for English Teaching (CET) and Learning Hub.

As a customer-oriented Finance Officer, it will be your responsibility to ensure compliance with Financial, Procurement and all other University policies and procedures.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work in a small team of 3 to provide financial support to CET and Learning Hub staff
  • resolve financial transactional queries from clients in a timely and customer focused manner
  • prepare and deliver ad hoc transactional reporting as requested for specific financial projects
  • maintain accurate financial reports in accordance with University requirements
  • provide feedback to central teams such as AR and AP to help resolve billing and payment issues
  • support University strategy, projects and other process improvements
  • undertakes ad-hoc projects and other activities.

About you

  • tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business or Commerce, and/or equivalent work experience
  • experience in using financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Hyperion or similar financial systems
  • ability to work in a team environment and take responsibility for their own performance
  • strong relationship management skills to be able to support a diversified stakeholder base
  • excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse information and find solutions
  • exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
