An opportunity exists for a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow to join the Burr laboratory, within the ACRF Department of Cancer Biology and Therapeutics at the John Curtin School of Medical Research. The Burr lab focuses on uncovering the key molecular processes driving immune evasion in cancer using CRISPR genetic screening approaches together with genomic and proteomic technologies, with the aim of developing new treatments to target these pathways. With the generous support of Snow Medical and NHMRC, research in the Burr lab encompasses ambitious fundamental and translational research projects spanning cancer cell biology, immunology and epigenetics. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The candidate will have access to cutting-edge technologies, expertise and facilities within the Burr lab, JCSMR, ANU and the Canberra Hospital. The role will provide opportunities for the candidate to lead research projects, pursue new research ideas, supervise students and junior researchers, develop new skills and expertise and contribute to national and international collaborative research projects. Supported by the Snow Fellowship program, the position incorporates a specific commitment to providing career development opportunities, research skills and leadership training.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a PhD and strong research background in one or more of: cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, chromatin biology, biochemistry, or cancer biology. The candidate will have a strong drive to pursue a career in research, excellent interpersonal skills, technical ability and a demonstrated track record of productivity.
