Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Professor in Social Work within UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice.

The UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice seeks to appoint a Professor in Social Work with a distinguished international research and teaching record in social work. The successful candidate will be expected to provide the academic vision, innovation and strategic leadership that will further develop a vibrant teaching, learning and research programmes in social work at UCD.

UCD offers the largest Professional Masters of Social Work Programme in Ireland and attracts students from a range of different backgrounds both nationally and internationally. The School's social work academics benefit from extensive professional and academic networks and a broad range of teaching and research interests across a range of client group areas. The successful candidate will be expected to further strengthen the national and international profile of social work and play a leadership role in the discipline. The successful candidate will have an established international reputation in research and teaching in relation to Social Work. The successful candidate will have significant experience in leadership in the development of social work professional education programmes.

S/he will have considerable experience in delivering innovative pedagogical approaches and will contribute to the design and development of core graduate programmes in Social Work. The post holder will be involved in the supervision of PhD students and post-doctoral researchers and will provide leadership in both programme design and research scholarship.

95 Professor Salary scale: €89,411 - €119,509 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
