About the team

The Strategy and Planning Unit is situated within the Strategy Planning and Performance Office. The Unit provides strategic leadership and guidance at the University-wide level for all long-term strategy development, continuous improvement strategies and annual planning processes including monitoring of external competitors, market pressures and influences and development and execution of University wide integrated planning processes.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will, under limited direction, provide strategic analysis of academic and industry markets, government policy settings and proposals, and UWA absolute and relative performance against our strategic plan and the market – domestically and globally. You will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and promulgating a suite of qualitative and quantitative business information to support operational and strategic decisions. You will work as a business partner with multiple stakeholders, including Schools, to identify information needs and build sophisticated analysis, discussion and position papers and submissions to the Executive, Senate and external agencies

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A tertiary qualification with a strong qualitative and quantitative analytical focus
  • Substantial and extensive experience in research, analysis and report writing to establish ‘decision ready’ advice for the university decision makers
  • Extensive experience in effectively using a broad toolkit of qualitative and quantitative planning techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse stakeholders to deliver engagement, buy-in and deliver logical and compelling recommendations

You will be highly organised with the ability to work independently, show initiative and exercise judgement. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and work productively as part of the Strategy, Planning and Performance team.
