About the position

Bond Business School is widely acknowledged, both nationally and internationally, as a benchmark in providing an uncompromising commitment to a premium student experience and to developing leaders for society. The School’s vision is to be the place of choice for tomorrow’s business leaders to study and learn their craft.

The School offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and is globally recognised for the quality of its programs. It is internationally accredited by both the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the European Foundation for Management Development's (EFMD) European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Bond Business School is driven by a focus on three research pillars: Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise; Data Analytics; and Governance, Accountability and Purpose. These pillars are used to develop graduates who will be impactful and relevant leaders of society for tomorrow and beyond.

The School is seeking to appoint a management academic who specialises in Strategy and Governance and strives for excellence in teaching and research. Successful candidates will contribute to the development of curriculum, design of assessment items and delivery of content through both face-to-face and online teaching. They will demonstrate leadership in research, publishing in high quality academic and professional publications; preparing successful research grant funding applications; and having a strong track record in the supervision of higher degree research students. They will have the capacity to make a significant research and leadership contribution to the School’s Governance, Accountability and Purpose (GAP) pillar. This pillar is populated by a community of scholars focusing their scholarship on the impact and efficacy of forward-thinking business practices that centralise stakeholders in decision-making and organisational activities. The central focus builds on the concept of triple bottom line reporting, resulting in three themes within the groups research of ‘purposeful profit’, ‘people’ and ‘planet’.

About the person:

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in management, preferably with a focus on strategy and/or governance and have previously taught in Strategy and other management subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and a strong track record of excellence in research with the capacity to lead cross-disciplinary research teams. They will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in teams with colleagues across various disciplines.
