Our Games and Digital Media team are seeking a Lecturer in Digital Media Development for a fixed-term contract from December 2021 to July 2022. The modules to be covered take place on Wednesdays (9:00 – 12:00) and Fridays (10:00 – 15:00).

A successful candidate would be expected to deliver most of the subjects below, industry background would be an advantage or previous experience in teaching Digital Media in Higher Education:

  • Project management, planning and tools (Gantt charts, Trello or similar, Git or similar)
  • Design skills (UX, ideation, prototyping, evaluation, UCD, user engagement, evaluation, service design, personas, benchmarking, territory mapping, prototyping)
  • Group working and managing teams 
  • Production process 
  • Agile, Scrum 
  • Video and Audio basics
  • Testing and debugging
  • QA
  • Understanding of software incl. Unity, modelling software, prototyping software, web design
  • Marketing and business concepts (Digital marketing plan, value proposition canvas, customer relationship management) and analytics 
  • Social media and email marketing 
  • Web design and search engine optimisation

Teaching will be in person at our Maritime Campus in the heart of Greenwich. Responsibilities outside of teaching hours will include answering student module-related queries, preparation of teaching and lab material as well as marking of student coursework submissions. Support will be available from the Programme Leader and the Games and Digital Media team. Most of the content has been delivered previously but may need updating or personalising to a successful candidate’s skillset and knowledge.
