We examine referral access from maternity and adult specialist services. We will survey the public and people at risk of genetic conditions about their experiences of accessing genetic services and awareness of genetic counselling. We examine International and European models of genetic service delivery and recommend a best fit for Ireland. We will report best practice recommendations for inclusion of personal genetic information in developing eHealth Ireland electronic health care records. We will examine international practices in genetic counselling (GC) service provision and regulation, survey the Irish GC work force regarding practice & wellbeing and propose recommendations for Irish GC services including a path towards regulation.
