Students follow a structured 5-year curriculum. Professional Orientation (JPO 110 and JPO 120) is offered over two semesters in the first year of the ENGAGE Programme. The two modules follow a project-based approach and are designed to develop and refine suitable Academic, IT, and university-level Reading and Writing practices for academic success within the School of Engineering at UP. Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to conduct research and publish in the fields of Engineering Education (focusing on the effective teaching and learning of students in extended degree programmes) and/or Big Data Science. Finally, the successful candidate will help to develop and refine the Professional Orientation curriculum in order to include new technologies and information. Teaching within the module comprises of three formal lectures (with two groups of approximately 100 students) once a week and three interactive discussion/application classes (with the same two groups).
