Part-time: 14 hours per week (0.4 FTE)

Fixed Term, 4 months (Maternity cover)

Reporting to the Disability Service Team Leader you will provide information and advice to prospective and current disabled students.  Carrying out Needs Assessments for individual students and processing and submitting Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) applications; you will also develop personal support arrangements for students.

Educated to degree level or equivalent you will have relevant experience working in an advisory capacity as well as working with disabled people on a one-to-one basis and, preferably, experience of screening and referring individuals for assessment for Specific Learning Difficulties including dyslexia. In addition, you should be able to evidence experience of building successful internal and external relationships. You will also provide specialist information and advice to prospective and current students with disabilities on the support systems available in Higher Education and to enable the assessment and implementation of students’ support requirements.

With clear and effective written and oral communication skills you should have experience of giving presentations and the ability to manage, retrieve and disseminate information in a variety of formats.  To meet the demands of this role you will require a high level of planning skills to organise and prioritise workload and to act on initiative to meet tight deadlines. remote delivery across all UWS campuses  is required to meet delivery requirements of the Disability Service.

This is a regulated post under the new Protection of Vulnerable Adults Scheme.  Candidates will be expected to have appropriate clearance commensurate with this role.
