• HEW 10 - $126,606 per annum plus 17% Superannuation

Based at either of our Campuses, this role will establish and support the University’s priority international partnerships and provide strategic advice on international partnerships and TNE partnerships and programs by leading the transnational education team to ensure an integrated approach across the University in engaging with existing and prospective international partners. The role also has the responsibility to provide senior coordination for complex transnational education partnerships and business case development.

You will have a high level of engagement with the team, building new and productive relationships with a diverse range of potential stakeholders or key and influential individuals both inside and outside the University and lead with clear direction while enabling delegated problem solving.  The role will provide expert leadership and ensure solutions are leading practice and sustainable.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Build and inspire a culture of integrity, collaboration, accountability and inclusive practice across Deakin to ensure alignment of all functional and operational business plans to Deakin’s strategic plan
• Lead with clear direction while enabling devolved problem solving and provide expert leadership and ensure solutions are leading practice and sustainable
• Use an in-depth understanding of Deakin’s operating environment and its drivers to translate complex issues into clear and understandable strategies and goals for Deakin and formulate potential courses of action to achieve objectives
• Overcome resistance to change and manage complex stakeholder issues that are integral to the change process and show integrity and empathy for individuals facing a loss from change or innovation
• Empower people to question existing policies, processes and systems to improve or be more creative and innovative
• Seek understanding of the University environment by accurately perceiving organisational, political and social dynamics and proactively navigate the stakeholder environment to avoid unwanted or unproductive reactions and consequences
• Create a sustainable climate of service excellence, encourage and support others to see situations from the client’s perspective and systematically measure client satisfaction and implement improvement strategies to more effectively meet client needs

To be successful, you’ll have

• Proven expertise in the management of significant human and material resources
• Well-developed business and community networks
• Experience developing relationships and networks with government, industry and non-government organisations and providers
• Experience coordinating or supporting the preparation or evaluation of Tenders, Partnership and Linkage grants, commercial opportunities, and funding requests
• Navigating Complexity: Proactively and quickly making sense of complex issues; responding effectively to difficult and ambiguous situations
• Environmental Scanning: Seeks emerging trends; identifies issues within the field of expertise and university context
• Collaboration: Proactively supports working together, shares ideas and provides constructive feedback; respects and values others
