Senior CPD Manager REQ001379

Grade 8:  £51,799 - £60,022 per annum

Full-time: 35 Hours per week

The UWS is committed to increasing its impact on the UN Sustainability Goals in line with its Strategy 2025. This includes the development of its range of innovation and enterprise related products, programmes and services. The Business Innovation Service plays a central role in this and in achieving the University’s strategic aim to increase our students’ success and produce high quality research and enterprise impact.

Leadership of the CPD centre has a breadth and depth of responsibility across strategic, financial and operational functions. The Senior CPD Manager will occupy a strategic position within the Business Innovation team, responsible for the Centre for Continuing Professional Development business unit, which was created in December 2019 and will manage a growing CPD team (Currently 6 FTE) and also plan, forecast and report against the CPD targets institution-wide, and lead initiatives and source opportunities (including external funding) to achieve these targets.

The post is also responsible for setting the strategic direction and driving growth of short courses and operations of short courses across the institution. This includes development of the course portfolio, oversight of course design, professional accreditations for short courses, course marketing, and delegate recruitment (and support pre- and post- course).  The remit of the CPD team extends to include clients overseas primarily supporting the Chinese SAFEA training partner status and other international CPD contracts.

CPD delivery has moved increasingly online and as a result the Senior CPD Manager is required to have an understanding of online pedagogical approaches and best practice, and the changing needs of delegates, in order to effectively advise clients on course design and delivery for their desired learning outcomes.

In addition to existing client account management responsibilities, the post also acts as UWS representative with relevant sector bodies and is an active participant in institution-wide reviews to further integrate meaningful, flexible short courses of study into Learning & Teaching at UWS.
