The Academic & Learning Enhancement Team supports a culture of continuous educational enhancement across the university. We aim to support the enhancement of pedagogy and curricula by (1) developing and recognising teachers and, where possible, influencing their reward and (2) supporting good programme design/review.

This post is primarily intended to support our distance-learning PGCert in Higher Education, as the programme grows to accommodate participants from our international partner institutions. The post will also contribute to other support provided by the team for early career staff development, such as our blended courses for PGR students and our practical teaching course for staff new to teaching at Greenwich, as well as our CPD provision. It is intended that the lecturer will develop their own expertise in an area prioritised by our Student Success sub-strategy and provide support in this area across the university.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching, course development and tutoring on the PGCertHE, which is taught fully online
  • Teaching and course development on courses for early career academics
  • Providing and evaluating sessions as part of our continuous professional development programme.
  • Providing development, support, advice and guidance to academic staff around their educational provision in line with strategy and in response to faculty and staff needs.

You will have experience delivering and/or leading postgraduate level teaching in the field of Learning and teaching in Higher Education (either for or not-for credit) and of providing high quality student care and pastoral provision. You will be able to engage with and respond to participant feedback and have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills so as to enable you to support academic staff to enhance their educational practices. You will have a category of Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
