Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 508977), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, medicine, or related disciplines. They should have strong expertise in infectious disease epidemiology demonstrated by a strong track record in influenza and COVID-19 research; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Relevant work experience in infectious disease epidemiology, and an excellent record of publications and grants would be advantages.

The appointee will conduct epidemiological research with a focus on generating data on COVID-19 epidemiology and control to support evidence-based policies. He/She will develop research programs independently; write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; supervise junior research staff and students; and assist in administrative, operational and other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
