About the role

The Department of Languages and Linguistics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a lecturer in Japanese Studies. The appointee will teach undergraduate subjects in Japanese language and in Asian Studies, drawing on his or her specialist discipline; and contribute to postgraduate supervision and research activities of the School.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role you will possess a PhD in a relevant field of Japanese Studies. It is essential that you have native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and English with a minimum of JLTP N1 or equivalent. You be experienced in developing and delivering a range of LOTE teaching methods including the development of online materials. You will have a record of quality research. To be successful you also will possess strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
