The University of Lincoln has built an international reputation for the quality of its teaching and research. The University was named as the Modern University of the Year in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021. The University of Lincoln is rated TEF Gold – the highest standard possible – for the quality of its teaching in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework. The School of Computer Science has played a key part in achieving this pursuing a blend of fundamental, applied and interdisciplinary research, with particular strengths in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and Interactive Technologies.

The School of Computer Science seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer, with established expertise within at least of one the following areas; Machine Learning, Data Science and or Big Data Analytics and related applications to support the development and delivery of the online curriculum in our Computing subject area, which covers a range of postgraduate courses in Computer Science. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the School’s teaching activities, scholarship and professional practice, and to contribute to the delivery of modules on other programmes across the School of Computer Science. This will also include contributions to curriculum development, such as the preparation of new modules and programmes. You will be involved in tutoring and supervising students at all levels.

The University is committed to building a culturally diverse institution, where all staff and students can flourish and feel valued for their contribution and individuality.  We are encouraging talented people, whatever their background, to work and study here.  All appointments are made on merit. We particularly welcome applications from suitably qualified female academics, as they are currently under-represented in positions within the School.
