Job description

The School of Arts, English and Languages at Queen’s University Belfast is one of the most diverse in the British Isles and Ireland. The School of Arts, English and Languages is currently recruiting for a Lecturer (Education) in Audio-Visual Post Production to undertake teaching and related activities in support of the School’s PGCert in Audio-Visual Post-Production and other programmes as required.

You will be responsible for delivering a range of teaching, supervision and assessment activities in audio-visual post-production including convening and delivery of modules in visual editing, post-production sound and deliverables. You will also contribute to teaching across the School’s programmes in Film Studies and Production, Broadcast Production, and Music and Sound Design as required.

As the successful applicant you will have the following:

  • Primary degree (at least 2:1) in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: visual editing, post production sound, screen deliverables.
  • Experience of collaboration with relevant film and screen industry, culture and educational organisations.
  • Professional experience in the film and screen industry, including knowledge and experience of current technologies, workflows and practices relating to visual editing and/or post-production sound.

This is a fixed term post for 12 months at 0.5 FTE.

Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
