You are invited to apply for the position of Laboratory Technician, to work as part of the technical team supporting the research activities of the University of Southampton, Faculty of Medicine in the School of Human Development and Health. The Human Development and Health (HDH) School focuses on world leading research into human development and the mechanisms that underlie its impact on health and disease.

 

The post will involve laboratory housekeeping, safety and maintenance, as well as conducting routine laboratory experiments, to directly support the research within Human Development and Health.  This is a full time permanent post, equivalent to 36 hours per week. 

Candidates should have previous experience working within a laboratory as well as experience in or a good understanding of PCR and/or Tissue culture techniques. Good interpersonal skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 Excel, Outlook and other standard software packages are essential, as well as a good general education equivalent to a minimum of GCSE standard.

Candidates with professional registration or willingness to work towards achieving this, with support, are particularly welcome.
