Working within the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, you will provide expertise in an area of Computing to further enhance research,  teaching and entrepreneurial activities. This will include designing, developing and delivering high-quality teaching activities, undertaking individual and joint research to produce high-quality academic outputs, and participating in external activity to generate income and promote the subject.

The Department has research strengths in areas including: AI and machine learning, HCI and social computing, networks and cyber security, and digital approaches to learning.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with strengths in any of the following areas:

big data,
cloud computing,
network security,
computer forensics,
operating systems,
or web development.

However, we will consider high-quality applications in any area relevant to our teaching or research activities.

You must hold a first degree and be qualified to Doctoral level in a relevant discipline and have subject expertise in Computing with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Proven ability to deliver high-quality research-led teaching within an appropriate field and a strong publication profile are essential.
