Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Applications are invited for the Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the ISRO-RESPOND Funded Project in School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), (ISRO/RES/3/882/21-22), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).

Title of the Project: “Optimization of flux activated gas tungsten arc welding parameters for stainless steel AISI 304L to achieve maximum weld depth to width ratio and improved mechanical properties”.

Qualification: First Class in M.E. / M.Tech. (Welding Technology/Materials Science and Engineering/ Metallurgy / Manufacturing Engineering/ Production Technology / Industrial Engineering/Computer Integrated Manufacturing) with a valid GATE score & strong subject knowledge, commitment, and motivation to pursue research in the subject area.

Desirable (if any): Candidates having knowledge in welding technology, materials science and metallurgy, characterization of materials, optimization techniques and experience in technical writing will be preferred.

Stipend: Rs. 31000/- per month + 9% HRA for the period of Two Years
