Job Description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is looking to recruit a Research Fellow to work on a research project related to automating construction inspections using quadruped robotic solutions. This project aims to develop robotic-BIM interfaces, as well as developing AI and machine learning algorithms to enhance the inspection process. The candidate is expected to carry out research on human-BIM-robotic interfaces, and must be proficient in BIM and construction databases. Experience in software development and system architecture is an advantage. The candidate must work well within the team and will be vital in leading the team to develop advanced AI algorithms.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering/ Management, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, or related field from a reputable university
  • Knowledge of computing using Python, Matlab, or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • An excellent publication record
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • Prior work experience in related areas, or in developing software systems
  • Ability to work in a team
