Job Description

  • Assist in development of the Digital Urban Climate Twin (more information can be found at https://www.coolingsingapore.sg/).
  • Opportunity to work with the Data Analysis and Climate Vegetation teams to contribute meaningfully to the research project. 
  • Data Analysis of Environmental Datasets
    •  Conduct statistical analysis of microclimate research using tools such as R and Python
    •  Build academic-standard data visualizations for publications
  • Assist in research within the Data Analysis, and Climate and Vegetation pillars, which includes fieldwork and model simulations for the CS2.0 project.
  • Contracts for this full time position are up to the conclusion of the project (August 31, 2023).
  • Hires in the CS2.0 project will be working in a strong multi-disciplinary environment and will interact with researchers based in five leading research institutes in Singapore.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of Urban Studies, Earth Sciences, Geography or Architecture.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools such as R, Python or Matlab.
  • Comfortable with using Github for version control of datasets.
  • Basic understanding of building byelaws, development control regulations, urban planning norms, urban design guidelines in Singapore. 
  • Willingness to learn in a multi-disciplinary environment (e.g. able to understand or at least willing to learn basics of environmental studies or statistical research for familiarization wuth project) and collaborate with other team members.
