Research Fellow, Complexity

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Fellow in Complexity and Systems Science to research and make sense of complexity in urban systems. It is envisaged that the outcomes will be able to inform policy makers and urban designers to build better and more resilient systems.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research in complexity and its related areas such as systems and resilience. Such research is likely to include economic, social and environmental concerns. As such, the research is multi-disciplinary, and the candidate is unlikely to possess all the requirements and has to be willing to learn other disciplines. Candidates in systems dynamics or network science may also apply. Candidates with multi-disciplinary background will be considered favorably.

The successful candidate is expected to work closely with other research fellows and will have a chance to interact with urban planners.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in a relevant area;
  • Good publication record; and/ or
  • Experience in relevant research
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and organizational skills are essential; and
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment.
