The Post

Given the popularity of our modules in New Venture Creation; Family Business; Business Growth and Business Start Up, Digital Entrepreneurship, Digital Innovation.  There is an opportunity to develop new areas in eco edge and eco systems, the triple helix and developing the entrepreneurial mind-set, working with our active Entrepreneurs in Residence. One of the Schools ‘cross cutting themes’, relates to these areas, given the post pandemic ‘bounce back’ and the UK’s recent Innovation Strategy (2021) and there is an opportunity to support the three University City Deals and the Help To Grow Scheme which we are part of.

Although all cognate areas of will be considered, we are particularly interested in applicants with research or scholarship expertise in areas that the Department of Management, Work and Organisation is looking to grow, including (but not limited to) applicants who are keen to contribute to the development of key research themes within the School, encouraged to apply.

The Stirling Management School’s research themes, which are framed to support UN SDGs are:

Informing Sustainable Communities: which explores the impacts of change on global and local communities, places and spaces including digital lives and smart cities, through our research in resource economics; the role of town and city centres; environments & ageing; and grassroots and community organisations.

Transforming Consumption & Production Markets: which investigates change in the consumption and production lifecycle, bridging the gap between business, markets and consumer behaviours, through our research in retailing and supply chains; consumer behaviour; sustainability and consumption markets.

Supporting Healthy Behaviourswhich considers why people make the decisions they do, and how societies can better support a healthy population at all stages of life, through our research into nudging behaviours; medical tourism; the management & organisation of healthcare; wellbeing, and public health economics.

Understanding Decent Work: which addresses workplace challenges related to diversity, inclusion, new technologies, innovation and the impact on employment through our research on human capital; working lives; un\under-employment, employability and skills.

Exploring Sustainable Organisations: which explores changes in organizational structures and the processes, systems and governance mechanisms that drive sustainable economic development and wellbeing, through our research on co-production and co-creation; corporate governance and the responsible use of digital technologies and data; start-ups and SMEs; corporate accountability; change and leadership.

We seek applications from research-led educators with experience in demand-driven curriculum development, technology-enabled learning, and/or executive education and Higher and Degree Apprenticeships. We are especially interested to receive applications from prospective candidates whose work relates to the School’s mission and vision.
