Applications are invited for Temporary 5 years *(One post expected to begin on 1st June 2022, *Second post expected to begin on 1st October 2022) posts of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Urban and Regional Planning (CDIC) within UCD School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy  

Applications are invited for two positions as Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) in Urban and Regional Planning.  These are 5-year positions. The School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy is a dynamic, research-driven school with a clear focus on delivering excellent teaching programmes.  It is ranked in the global top 150 for ‘Built Environment (QS Global Rankings), ranking number 1 in Ireland.  The UCD Planning school is an internationally renowned centre of excellence and a contributor to the European and global planning education and research agenda.

While our individual academic staff in planning have a wide variety of research interests, over the past decade two broad clusters of research interests have developed:

• Development & Design: including housing, urban regeneration, urban design, regional innovation, community planning, heritage, smart cities, transportation.

• Environment and Planning: including planning and sustainability, the urban environment, rural planning, cities and noise and air pollution, green infrastructure, health/wellbeing and planning.

It is the expectation that the successful appointees will develop their research agenda in these areas and will work on an interdisciplinary basis in the School, and with associated research institutes.

As part of their application, applicants are requested to submit:

-          a 2-page research statement, outlining their research plans;

-          a 2-page teaching statement, outlining their teaching experience, teaching and learning philosophy, and planned approach to teaching and module development (this does not have to relate to specific subjects or modules, but should be a broad statement on their teaching and learning approach).

**95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: **€54,849 - €87,724 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
