Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the PVC & Executive Dean is a key academic leadership position within the University and will be responsible for a Faculty comprising three schools, Birmingham City Business School, the School of Law and the School of Social Sciences. With a strong emphasis on, and reputation for, practice-based learning and research engagement, the Faculty has over 8,000 students on campus and many more studying at home or overseas.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a significant part of the University's academic portfolio, building on the Faculty’s numerous strengths to propel it forward to even further excellence. We are therefore seeking highly motivated candidates with sustained academic leadership experience gained at a strategic level, who can successfully engage and inspire staff through the complexities of transformational change and that have a track record of delivering ambitious outcomes for students and the University. Alongside the strategic leadership of the Faculty and as part of the University Executive Team the new PVC & Executive will also be expected to contribute to the continuous development of the University vision and strategic objectives. A commitment to the mission and values of the University will also be essential, as well as a personal commitment to the EDI agenda and in making the University a fairer organisation.
