The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is one of five departments within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.  We are a thriving community of academics and support staff who are committed to empowering each other and students to be the best they can be, and ultimately improve the lives of people within our local, national and international reach. We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled individual to join our successful and highly committed team. We are seeking candidates with a breadth of experience in the field of adult nursing.

The Department provides high quality, research-rich education using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods delivered at all academic levels from undergraduate to doctoral study. You will work flexibly as part of a team to contribute to teaching, learning and assessment to support a high-quality student experience in both pre-registration and post-registration adult nursing and other health programmes. You will participate in the planning, designing and development of undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes, as well as pastoral tutoring. You will provide expertise to further enhance research and entrepreneurial activities. This will include undertaking individual and collaborative research that demonstrates impact.

You must possess excellent knowledge of the development and contemporary aspects of adult nursing and be a registered member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. You must hold a Master’s degree or be either qualified to Doctoral level or be willing to study for a Doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline. You need to have subject expertise with specialist knowledge gained through research activity, professional practice or consultancy. Ability to deliver high quality, research rich teaching within adult nursing and a growing publication profile are desirable.

Part-time and Secondment arrangements may be considered.

Our team has a blended approach which includes remote and on campus working.  The frequency with which colleagues will work on campus will depend on the role and the needs of the University. Some colleagues work on campus 5 days a week and others perhaps 2 or 3 days.
