The Department of Actuarial Studies and Business Analytics, within the Macquarie Business School, is a leading provider of business analytics education in the Australasian region and has been one of the first institutions in Australia to offer a Bachelor in Business Analytics since 2015. The Department offered Master of Business Analytics in 2020, which has been ranked #2 in Australia and #51-60 worldwide as per 2022 QS Ranking.

Essential Criteria

To be considered for tutor positions, applicants must possess the following:

  • An undergraduate degree (3 years +) or equivalent post graduate qualification relevant to their desired teaching discipline(s);
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others; and,
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students.
  • Possess three or more of the following:
  • Experience with R, Python, or other programming languages
  • Knowledge of SQL and database management
  • Experience with data visualization tools and platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, etc.)
  • Knowledge of statistical and mathematical data modelling
  • Experience with commercial analytics tools such as KNIME, MATLAB, SAS, or similar
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students

Desired Criteria

Preference will be given to applicants who hold higher, relevant degrees, demonstrate higher levels of recent experience, and have teaching experience, preferably at University level.
