A post is available for an enthusiastic researcher who wishes to contribute to the conduct of a systematic review and thematic synthesis of peoples’ experiences of self-management approaches for Chronic Widespread Pain (CWP) including Fibromyalgia under the supervision of Dr Adam Geraghty. In this project, through the synthesis, we aim develop a model for how self-management interventions affect outcomes in those with CWP including Fibromyalgia. The successful applicant will work as part of a leading team of researchers from the University of Southampton and Royal Holloway, University of London.

You should have:  a PhD in psychology, sociology, health services research or a related area or equivalent qualifications and research experience; evidence of the ability to work independently and efficiently; excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience of conducting systematic reviews and qualitative evidence syntheses (could be one of a range of approaches) is essential.

The post is for 6 months 3 days a week (60% FTE), starting in January 2021, and will be primarily remote. However, depending on the pandemic context and location of applicant some office time may be possible. The working pattern is flexible and will be discussed with the successful candidate. 

 Applications for Research Fellow positions will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification.  The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
