We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our busy and friendly Student Systems Team in Student and Academic Administration (SAA) providing system support for the Student Records system (Banner), the Curriculum Management Tool (Worktribe), the Placements system (InPlace) the PGR Manager tool and support to critical projects, including HESA Data Futures.

The Student Systems team is engaged in a wide range of system support activities including gathering and interpreting customer requirements, documenting and planning fixes/changes, communication with customers at all stages of the development lifecycle, troubleshooting configuration or systematic issues, demonstrating fixes/changes with end users and supporting UAT, designing, reviewing and executing system test scripts,  preparation of technical system documentation, proactive resolution of complex problems and small scale project management.  The team work closely with colleagues from within SAA and with colleagues in Admissions, Finance and iSolutions.

Proven experience of the full lifecycle of IT system enabled business change projects, including gathering requirements, requirement writing and process analysis, business process modelling and the writing of functional specifications and test plans is essential for this role.  You will be able to clearly document business requirements using your excellent written communication skills. Knowledge of relational databases and the use of SQL is highly desirable.  The successful candidate will be able to successfully plan, organise and deliver a piece of work whilst engaging with a variety of stakeholders to ensure output meets customer expectations. 

You will be an excellent team player with a proven ability to work proactively.  You will be well organised and adaptable and have confidence in managing a varied and fast-paced workload.  Excellent communication, organisation and inter-personal skills are requirement as well as a natural ability to investigate and solve complex system related problems using your excellent analytical skills.  Experience of working with Banner within the Higher Education sector would be advantageous. 

This role is offered on a full time fixed term contract for 12 months.
