Job Purpose

To provide technical leadership and solutions design in projects as assigned. Ensuring deliverables are designed, tested and fit for purpose following industry best practices. Responsible for ensuring all solutions align to Architecture and Business Strategy. Act as a mentor for more junior members of the team and technical consultancy where required across the group.

To influence and guide project sponsors and stakeholders throughout projects in all technical matters. Simplifying the complex and communicating solutions effectively to the project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the evolution of the enterprise architecture function. Understand, advocate and support the enterprise's IT strategies.
  • Ensure the enterprise architecture model is maintained including transition states from current states through to final state architectures, which will include high level integration models and enterprise logical data models
  • Identify and analyse enterprise business drivers to derive useful business context. Lead analysis of the current IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Continually analyse the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise architecture.
  • Promote the EA process, outcomes and results to the organisation, including the enterprise's IT and business leaders.
  • Consult with project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture to accommodate project needs. Consult with infrastructure development project teams to fit infrastructure to architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the technical architecture to accommodate infrastructure needs.
  • Identify organisational requirements of all architecture design and analysis work.
  • Assess and communicate the value of the enterprise architecture.
  • Provide final line for any escalated technical issues.

Candidate Criteria

  • Degree qualified and relevant professional qualification and experience (e.g. computer science, systems analysis)
  • Typically at least 7 years' experience, in a strong technical discipline such as application development with a minimum of 3 years in technical architecture.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environment.
  • Awareness of TOGAF or Zachman architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge of all components in holistic enterprise architecture.
  • Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes.
  • Familiarity with basic graphical modelling approaches, tools and model repositories.
  • Ability to comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
  • Effective at acquiring an understanding of a problem or situation, and developing an approach to interacting with the situation.
  • Needs to keep overall objectives and strategies in mind, and not be deflected by matters of detail.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of EA alternatives.
  • Retaining objectivity and proper understanding of a problem or situation when placed under conditions of stress
  • Effective in the application of relevant industry and process standards to all tasks undertaken.
  • 2 years experience communicating to C-Level management is ideal
  • Demonstrable experience solutioning to 6 figure project budgets is huge plus
