The Department and role purpose:
Durham Earth Sciences is one of the very best UK Earth Science departments with an outstanding reputation for excellence in teaching and research. We have a vibrant community of around 35 academic staff, 25 research & technical staff, and 10 professional service staff. We have around 70 research students and around 300 undergraduates. The Department has a wide range of analytical facilities that underpins our work, including state of the art geochemical, geophysical, rock mechanics, rheological, and imaging equipment. Applicants are invited for a Facilities Manager a key departmental role with a diverse range of responsibilities including overseeing the facilities management of both the general departmental space, teaching rooms and the laboratories, proactively engaging with colleagues to ensure an appropriate, effective level of service.
