Our new Chief People Officer (CPO) will bring to life our commitment to our people as a central force within the University, driving forward ongoing change programmes which aim to modernise our processes and technology, to enable us to do things efficiently, effectively and to the highest standard, while embracing our values. As a member of the University Executive Board and reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, with a close operational relationship to the Chief Operating Officer, the CPO will be the trusted expert advisor on all people issues making a significant contribution to the strategic direction of the University.
We are seeking innovative candidates with strong operational human resources experience gained in a complex, unionised environment together with the ability to set a clear vision and engage others in its delivery. You will be CIPD-qualified and able to evidence a track record of implementing significant service transformation, including new technologies, as well the implementation of HR strategies that have led to measurable organisational improvements.
A proven leader of cultural change, you will thrive in a dynamic environment and whilst you may not necessarily have previously worked in a university, you will recognise the need to be sensitive to the differences that exist in a knowledge led environment.
