About the Role

The Research Fellow will carry out research and development activities that will contribute to Future Energy Exports Cooperative Research Centre (FEnEx CRC) research project conducted jointly by UniSA, QUT, Asset Institute, MIMOSA, Queensland Government, titled ‘Open Specification for Analytics Interoperability’.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute research plans in a hands-on capacity
  • Undertake day-to-day management of the research project to achieve project milestones
  • Contribute to new ideas and approaches to support the development of innovative technologies
  • Prepare or contribute to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research
  • Supervise, train and support postgraduate students, internship students and visiting students, where appropriate
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings associated with relevant research projects
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with relevant research projects

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A PhD in computer science or a relevant discipline
  • Evidence of a strong track record of high-quality journal publications and conference presentations in the fields of data management, ontologies, conceptual modelling and/or closely related areas
  • Experience and strong research and development skills in data management, data integration and related areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues and students
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills that contribute to effective team processes and building of constructive relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team where necessary
