Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University announces an open competition for the position Lecturer in Classical Greek Language

Main duties:

• teaching of the courses of Greek grammar on both elementary and advanced level (in Czech/Slovak);
• supervision of the Reading Greek Texts courses in the Bachelor’s degree study programme;
• basic administrative routine in managing courses taught by the candidate in the Information System of the Masaryk University;
• participation in the activities undertaken for the purpose of popularization of the study programme.

Requirements for applicants:

• M.A. degree in the field of Classical Greek Language and Literature or equivalent;
• fluency in Czech or Slovak language;
• proficiency in English language of the level B2 or higher;
• ability to read scholarly literature in an additional language that is internationally recognized in the field of Classical Studies (German, French, Italian, Spanish, etc.);
• basic computer proficiency and the ability to work with the most important digital databases in the field of Classical Studies (TLG, etc.);
• ability to work without supervision;
• prior experience with teaching is a plus.
