The Role

  • Continuing, Full Time
  • Level B/C/D - $100,476 to $162,614 pa (plus 17% superannuation)
  • Wagga Wagga

We are currently seeking an outstanding educator who will actively contribute to teaching innovation, research and academic leadership. Teaching will be delivered to undergraduate and postgraduate (residents) cohorts and leadership in the provision of high-quality equine surgery services at our Veterinary Clinical Centre in Wagga Wagga will be required.

To be successful in this role you will have proven leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with a demonstrated commitment to upholding the University's values and enhancing the future of the Equine discipline and veterinarian profession.

Current registration as a Veterinarian with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW is essential for this position in addition to specialist qualifications or eligibility to obtain.

The successful candidate will be appointed to either a teaching research or teaching professional work function and will have access to the University's generous relocation support scheme.

To be successful you will have:

  • A qualification relevant to the discipline and appropriate at the level being applied for
  • Current registration as a Veterinarian with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW
  • Board certification by the American and/or European College of Veterinary Surgeons or eligibility to sit board examination or equivalent
  • A record of academic achievement of national and/or international standing through outstanding contributions to the profession
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and/ or and build people capability in an academic setting to deliver outcomes

The School has a substantial infrastructure of a high standard for training veterinary undergraduates and postgraduates, including access to on-campus veterinary enterprises in Wagga. The School has a strong research profile, including significant numbers of undergraduate honours and higher research degree students. Relevant research strengths include animal health, welfare and diseases, epidemiology, biosecurity, toxicology, animal models of human conditions and animal production.
