About the Job

Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. We are seeking an experienced professional to take on the position of Workplace Relations Consultant and will provide specialist advice and services to the People and Culture team, managers, senior managers and staff across a broad range of workplace relations and industrial relations matters.

This position is available to start immediately.

About you

To be suitable for the role you will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification in law, specialising in employee relations or industrial relations; employee relations or industrial relations industry experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated understanding of the law relating to workplace and industrial relations and an ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards, legislation, contracts and policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or advising on unsatisfactory performance/conduct, change management processes, grievances, terminations and redundancy processes
  • Well-developed advocacy and negotiation skills and experience
  • Experience with conducting and/or advising in relation to enterprise bargaining
