Do you want to make a difference? Are you able to provide the business acumen  and management style to support a world-leading university achieve its strategic aims during these exceptional times? This is a great time to join the University of Southampton Library as Head of Collections Acquisitions and Discovery. This key role will manage and develop our acquisitions, reading lists and metadata teams. The post-holder to will provide expertise and insights into trends in scholarly publishing, and work collaboratively with colleagues from across the Library to identify and incorporate academic and student priorities into the development and discovery of Library physical and digital collections. The role involves the management of overseeing the Library content budget (currently c. £5+ million/year), significant internal and external liaison and direct negotiation with publishers, participation in purchasing consortia, and national agreements . The role requires excellent communication and people skills.
