About the position 

We have a vacancy for a Postdoctoral fellow position at Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering

The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.

The Postdoctoral fellow will establish a fundamental knowledge on how to create synergy for the building information, and sustainability assessment (SA) to create life cycle twin of sustainable built environment. 

Furthermore, the method will be validated through the case studies in multi floor timber buildings.

The Postdoctoral fellow will be a member of the group of “digital twin for sustainable built environment” at NTNU.

You will report to Head of Department.

Duties of the position

• Developing the secured data fusing method for BIM and LCA
• Communicating with local and international partners on information flow and cooperation
• Regularly publish results in scientific journals and conferences, and present to project stakeholders.
• Supporting the new project development within Digital twin and data analytic for sustainable built environment
• Within the project, small-scale prototyping and experimental validation of digital twin in the timber building will be performed.

Required selection criteria

• You must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD
• You must have a professionally relevant background in building information modelling, sustainability assessment, construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or computer science/engineering
• Good written and oral English proficiency

The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant  

Preferred selection criteria

• Knowledge and experience on 3D modelling or building information modelling for existing building/ built environment
• Knowledge about ISO 19650, or other related standards

Salary and conditions

As a Postdoctoral Fellow (code 1352) you are normally paid from gross NOK 545 300 per annum before tax, depending on qualifications and seniority. From the salary, 2% is deducted as a contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund. 

The period of employment is 2 years.  

The engagement is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants, and the acts relating to Control of the Export of Strategic Goods, Services and Technology. Candidates who by assessment of the application and attachment are seen to conflict with the criteria in the latter law will be prohibited from recruitment to NTNU. After the appointment you must assume that there may be changes in the area of work. 

It is a prerequisite you can be present at and accessible to the institution on a daily basis.
