Durham University is seeking to appoint an exceptional individual as its new Academic Registrar, a key position within the institution. The Academic Registrar leads the Academic Office and responsible for the educational infrastructure of Durham University. Reporting to the Vice-Provost (Education) and working in partnership with Faculties, Departments, and Professional Services staff, the Academic Registrar works to ensure innovative and effective service delivery across the institution. The University is in the process of developing new educational offerings, improving student information systems, and reviewing educational policies and procedures. It is an exciting time for an experienced and strategic leader to join the institution, working closely with the University Executive Committee including our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karen O'Brien.

The position requires a strong, creative, collegial and sophisticated leader, able to identify innovative ways of working and proactively contribute to an institutional understanding of emerging challenges and opportunities in education and educational infrastructures. They will bring a thorough knowledge of the sector combined with the acuity to build strong relationships internally and externally to Durham, and a demonstrable track record of creative solutions to organisational challenges. As a member of the Vice-Provost (Education)'s senior management team, the Academic Registrar will sit on the University's Education Committee, build excellent relationships with Durham students, and ensure high performance and continuous improvement throughout the Academic Office.
