Applications are invited for a specified purpose post of a Chief Technical Officer I within UCD School of Psychology.

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Chief Technical Officer in the UCD School Psychology. The UCD School of Psychology has a diverse and extensive research and teaching portfolio across three themes: Affective, behavioural and cognitive neuroscience; Group processes and social inclusion; Psychological health well-being and resilience. We also work closely with one another across these themes and within the UCD Centre for Disability Studies and our research labs.

The successful candidate will manage all technical staff and resources within the School, and provide comprehensive technical support to faculty, staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students in the areas of research, teaching and learning, and administration, including committee membership for operational and strategic planning within the School.

The successful candidate will be primarily involved in the provision of a high quality research in Psychology laboratories and will also be expected to provide support in other areas of the School as required.

The candidate will provide technical research support in specialised hardware and software related to equipment such as EEG, eye trackers, virtual reality to staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students. In addition, the successful candidate will take a lead in the adoption of new methods and technologies to ensure provision of an excellent research service and will participate in and support ongoing research, including the sourcing and procurement of IT hardware, software and services.

The successful candidate will have training, qualifications and experience relevant to psychology research and be able to demonstrate good leadership, managerial/organisational/planning skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

95 Chief Technical Officer\2013 (2010) Salary: €61,065 - €75,752 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
