Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support Senior Manager, Planning & Finance, in managing the procurement function through development and implementation of purchasing strategies and policy formulation, as well as conduct review and analysis, manage performance, gather information, ensure compliance to relevant standards and timely reporting.

Specific (90%)

• Support Senior Manager, P&F, to establish, manage and/or perform, but not limited to, the following procurement functions: 
• Establish, maintain and update policies & procedures with respect to procurement activities
• Develop, implement and maintain systems and procurement activities to ensure adherence to SUSS’s policies and procedures
• Manage and provide supervision and guidance to procurement staff
• Manage procurement activities including tender/RFQ process, identify potential suppliers to secure cost-effective purchases, monitor supplier performances in terms of on-time delivery, quality and cost.
• Monitor procurement budget and expenditure
• Use relevant tools, e.g., analytics, to analyse spend pattern, spend aggregation etc.
• Maintain and update preferred supplier list
• Monitor and review inventory aging and inventory level
• Manage monthly purchasing report; ensure accuracy of stock level and timely reporting
• Provide advice and respond to questions/concerns pertaining to procurement activities.
• Review audit schedules relating to procurement activities, and assist auditors with their inquiries.
• Conduct training on procurement matters to whole University twice a year or as and when necessary.

General (10%)

• Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.

Job Requirements​

• Minimally a degree in relevant discipline, with a minimum 10 years of relevant working experiences with minimum 5 years at managerial level. 
• Procurement system implementation experience is a plus
• SAP S4 HANA user experience (preferable)
• Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent team player.
• Eye for details.
• Numerically inclined and analytical.
• High level of self-management and ability to work under tight timelines.
