Postdoctoral Research Fellow


Salary AC2 £37,467 to £44,706 per annum

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term: 18 months

We have an opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to our current project: COVID19: Tracking Persistent Symptoms in Scotland (TraPSS), working with Professor Nick Sculthorpe and the UWS Long COVID research team within the School of Health and Life Sciences. The project, funded by the Chief Scientist Office (CSO), involves tracking and analysing changes in symptom load of individuals who have had a recent COVID19 infection. 

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment and induction of participants into the study, supporting participants in using the data collection app in their first weeks of the study, providing regular reports of recruitment targets, data collection progress, and interim analyses.  You will join a multidisciplinary team covering mHealth, health, physiology, and psychology working at the UWS as part of their Long COVID research portfolio. 

Candidates should have excellent intercommunication and project management skills and have experience working on projects based in the community or with significant recruitment from the general public.  Additionally, a good understanding of statistics, epidemiology, large scale data analysis would be beneficial.  For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Nick Sculthorpe (
