Job Description

A fulltime Research Fellow position will be available after January 2021.

The primary focus of our laboratory is to understand the mechanism of transformation by aberrant activation of oncogenic transcription factors in leukemia and other cancers.  We are seeking highly motivated graduates. Candidates should have a PhD degree in molecular biology, cancer biology, medicine, bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, or related fields.

  1. For experimental study position (wet lab work), candidates will work on molecular biological and sequencing experiments (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, whole genome sequencing), and animal models to study cancer biology and normal development.  Prior experiences in the use of mouse or zebrafish model as well as basic molecular biology techniques are required.
  2. For bioinformatics position (dry lab work), candidates will work on large scale genomic and transcriptomic data from next generation sequencing (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, whole genome sequencing). Knowledge for optimization and statistical packages and programming (e.g., Python, Perl, C, C++, Java, R, or other related programming knowledge) are required.

The ability to work independently and design and interpret experiments is essential, together with excellent organizational skills and fluency in English.  We are looking for a team- and goal-oriented personality who wants to work in a young and international team.  Research Fellow will be encouraged to present data at internal and external meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

Applications should include full curriculum vitae, publication list, information on years of experience in research work, and names and contact information (e-mail and telephone numbers) of 3 references.  Inclusion of a summary of your research experience and a brief paragraph on why you want to join the Sanda lab is highly suggested.

Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
