Arts University Bournemouth is renowned globally as a professional arts university, dedicated to turning creativity into careers. Our culture of making, performing, and shaping cultures is at the heart of our learning, research and engagement. Our values speak of collaboration, connectedness and innovative practice, underpinned by a passion for our academic disciplines and extensive partnerships with industry, professions and communities.
We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and strive for our staff to be from diverse backgrounds. We positively encourage applications from individuals within under-represented groups and welcome applications from individuals regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within AUB’s long-established Bournemouth Film School to lead our vibrant and expanding BA (Hons) Film Production course. You will lead a team of academics and production managers, and work alongside technical staff on this highly respected flagship programme.
You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, student-focused academic learning and teaching and the continuing development of the course curriculum. As a leader of a creative team, the post-holder will also contribute to the strategic direction of the School and University.
We are looking for someone who can draw upon established academic and industrial networks in order to develop and drive pedagogic initiatives and external partnerships and opportunities. A successful candidate will have considerable experience of, and expertise in film production, and an understanding of emerging technologies and changing patterns of media distribution and/or critical discourses and theory in relation to contemporary film practice.
Ideally you will be research active and it is desirable that you hold a PhD or can demonstrate equivalent research experience.
